Sign up by May 31 for your Income Protection coverage to take effect June 1, 2024!

This is your rare opportunity to join the MSEA Income Protection Plan! Protect your income against non-work-related injuries, illnesses, medical procedures, surgeries or recoveries, including pregnancies – anything that keeps you out of work for 14 days or longer on doctor’s orders! No evidence of insurability needed!

Join the MSEA Income Protection! Open Enrollment runs through May 31, 2024. Sign up now for your Income Protection coverage to take effect June 1, 2024! Open Enrollments are rare events; don’t miss out! New coverage levels for those earning over $60,000!

The MSEA Income Protection Plan is for MSEA-SEIU Local 1989 members only! If you’re not yet a member of MSEA-SEIU Local 1989, become an MSEA-SEIU member today. Then take advantage of the MSEA Income Protection Plan’s Open Enrollment.

Coverage through the MSEA Income Protection Plan is affordable. It costs 40 cents a week per $100 of coverage. Example: $1,000 of monthly coverage costs $4 per week; $2,000 of monthly coverage costs $8 per week; and so on. Choose the level of Income Protection that works for you. Premiums are payable through automatic payroll deduction. Income Protection benefits are non-taxable, according to the IRS.

With this Open Enrollment Period, the MSEA Income Protection has added new salary tiers for those earning over $60,000. Higher-wage earners can now collect up to $3,000 of monthly income effective June 1, 2024. MSEA-SEIU members who already participate in Income Protection can use the Open Enrollment to increase their levels of Income Protection to the higher tiers effective June 1, 2024. Coverage through the Open Enrollment is subject to a 12/12 pre-existing condition clause.
