Congratulations, MSEA-SEIU scholarship winners for 2025 and 2026


Every year, we award academic scholarships for full-time students who are dependents of dues-paying MSEA-SEIU members and MSEA-SEIU members continuing their education. Congratulations to our 2025 and 2026 scholarship winners! We’ll begin accepting applications for our 2027 scholarships early next year.

2026 scholarship winners:

Richard J. McDonough Scholarship ($1,500): Joseph Berube, a member of our Preble Street Chapter, is attending University of Maine at Augusta.

Howard L. Bowen Scholarship ($1,000): Kameron Rachel Deering, child of Scholarship, a member of our Long Creek Youth Development Chapter, is attending Husson University in Bangor.

Murray L. Brown Scholarship ($1,000): Katarina De La Torre, child of Jose De La Torre, a member of our Eichel Crinion Chapter, is attending University of Maine in Orono.

George A. Davala Scholarship ($1,000): Sophie White, child of Lessie White Jr., a member of our Marine Resources Chapter, is attending Maine Maritime Academy in Castine.

MSEA-SEIU Member Scholarship ($500): Jeffrey Pepi, member of the Central Maine Chapter, is attending Perdue Global University in Indianapolis, Ind.

2025 scholarship winners:

Richard J. McDonough Scholarship ($1,500): Anglee Brewer, child of Tessa Mosher, a member of our Jay Poor/Richard West Chapter, is attending Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.

Howard L. Bowen Scholarship ($1,000): Chase Farnsworth, child of Sean Farnsworth, a member of our Penobscot Chapter, is attending Husson College in Bangor.

Murray L. Brown Scholarship ($1,000): Paige Bowden, child of Amie Bowden, a member of our Penobscot Chapter, is attending University of Maine in Orono.

George A. Davala Scholarship ($1,000): Savannah Lorenz, child of Jonathan Lorenz, a member of our Firefighters Chapter, is attending Husson College in Bangor.

Area I Community College Scholarship ($750): Bryana Barrett, child of Peggy Barrett, a member of our Capitol Western Chapter, is attending University of Maine at Augusta.

Area I Community College Scholarship ($750): Kassidy Andrews, child of Ronald Andrews, a member of our Maine Turnpike Chapter, is attending Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.
