Dear Sisters, Brothers, Kin and Allies:
It is that time again - the time for fellowship, solidarity and workers uniting to celebrate our victories, learn about what our union family is up to, and set our sights on the tasks ahead! It’s time for the 2023 Southern Maine Labor Council Labor Day Breakfast! Southern Maine Labor Council Labor Day Breakfast

Monday, September 4, 2023 LABOR DAY! Maine Irish Heritage Center: 34 Gray St, Portland (enter on State St.) Doors: 7am; Breakfast & Programming: 8am - 10am
This year, we are recognizing those among us who are walking the walk of solidarity in the community: workers, businesses, apprentices and policymakers who are critical to the very fabric of our working families movement. Their commitment to the cause and their stories on how/why they got there are not to be missed!
Reservations are required! RSVP to Sister Elizabeth O’Connor (AFSCME) at bondocon@atlanticbb.net with your ticket requests as well as what level of sponsorship your Local or organization is planning to contribute. For planning purposes, RSVPs are due by midnight on Friday, September 1st without exception! Seating is limited so please be mindful of your fellow union family members wishing to attend by limiting your reservations to the number of seats that you are certain that you and/or your Local will use.
Cost to Attend: FREE!*
*Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year’s attendees, this event will once again be made possible by the generous sponsorships of our labor community, allies, and friends. These donations not only help make this event possible but are also critical to SMLC’s programming throughout the year, providing support for things like: laid off workers, strike funds, supporting good policy and policymakers, member education & enrichment, and more. Sponsorship Opportunities General President Level (full page ad) = $1,000 Secretary-Treasurer Level (½ page) = $500 Trustee Level (¼ page) = $250 Organizer Level (⅛ page) = $100

Eastern Maine Labor Council Labor Day Celebration

Solidarity Center 20 Ivers Street, Brewer, Maine

Eastern Maine Labor Council and Food AND Medicine invite you and your union members to join us on Monday, September 4, 2023 from 4:30 to 7pm at the hall for our 20th Annual Labor Day Celebration.

We'll grill burgers from a local farm, red hot dogs, and local corn on the cob. Bring your favorite salad, side or dessert for a delicious and always fun potluck.

Listen to speakers (TBA) talk about union victories and hard work over the past year and happening right now, and learn a bit more about the great work that Food AND Medicine is doing.

We'll be presenting the annual Dan Lawson Memorial Solidarity Award - the winner will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

Include your local in our ad booklet by letting me know what size ad you want to take, and get the ad copy to me by 8/18. See prices and sizes below; ad booklets are 8.5x11 and print in color.
